Job Description:


- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Unit: 5 South Adult Psych
- Shift: Days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Environment: A welcoming and supportive atmosphere for both staff and patients

Unit Overview:


- Number of Beds: 9
- Staff Composition:
- Day Shift: 2 RNs, 2 Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), Sitters when assigned
- Night Shift: 1 RN, 2 BHTs, Sitters when assigned
- Patient Ratios: 5-9
- Equipment: Vital signs machine, Hoyer lift, glucometer, IVs, bladder scanner, alarms, crash cart
- EMR: Cerner

Ideal Candidate Profile:


- Required Skills:
- Caring and compassionate nature
- Strong assessment skills
- Team-oriented with critical thinking abilities
- Preferred Skills:
- Ability to de-escalate patients
- Flexibility in adapting to changing situations

Typical Responsibilities:


- Monitor vital signs and conduct assessments
- Respond to rapid responses and Code Blue situations
- Perform bladder scans and blood draws
- Provide high-quality care to geriatric patients

Additional Information:


- Required Certifications: BLS
- Floating Areas: All adult inpatient areas
- Dress Code:
- Navy blue scrub top with navy blue pants or all white attire
- Weekends: Required availability; no on-call duties
