Inova Children’s is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Physiatrist to join a rapidly growing program at Northern Virginia's only dedicated children's hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children’s health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance Inova Children’s cares for medically complex children from the prenatal period through adulthood. The Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will work collaboratively across pediatric specialties to support the care of children with congenital and acquired neurologic, musculoskeletal and developmental conditions. Your role includes: Blend of inpatient consults, outpatient clinic, and multi-disciplinary/complex care.Management of patients with chronic and long-term conditions, including spina bifida, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, trauma, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic oncology, and other pediatric functional impairments. Collaborates with physicians in pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and other multidisciplinary teams to support the care of medically complex children.Works collaboratively with Inova Children’s Rehabilitation (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) to support day to day patient care. Order or perform medical diagnostic or clinical tests.Write routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies, imaging, and consultations.Perform and record history and physical examinations.Evaluate treatment options and develop individualized treatment plans.Opportunity to build and expand PM&R services within a growing program.About Inova Children’s Inova L.J. Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start.
